Thoughts of a Canine Therapist – Dog Gates

As a dog mum there’s one thing I don’t think I could live without……. My dog gates 🚧🚧

I have them on 5 out of the 7 doorways in my house and usually have a spare in case one breaks!!

I have just been to someone’s house to collect a dog and it surprised me at how bare the place was dog equipment wise!! As someone who fosters dogs I expected gates or crates or……. just something…… but there was nothing 😳😳

It got me thinking, I know I’m an extreme case with the amount of dogs I have in my home and how I like to separate them when I go out etc. but if I only had one or two dogs would I remove the gates 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

No, I really don’t think I would!!

I like to be able to walk out of the house and leave the front door open while I chat to someone in the lane (even though it drives Kev mad 😂😂)

I like to know that I can get in and out of my house with things in my hands without the dogs being about

I like the fact that Kev can run in and out without worrying about dogs escaping

I like not having to check where my dogs are in the house if they’re not with me, and to be able to go to the bathroom in peace (unless the cats about)

And I like the fact that I can have visitors in my home and manage how and when my dogs get to greet them ❤️❤️

For me a dog gate is a crucial part of my house decor and it doesn’t matter how many dogs I have indoors, I can’t ever see me not using them ❤️🐾
